In Kfar Tikva ("Village of Hope"), a unique project for Israel has been developed: a winegrowing family specialises in the production of premium wines and at the same time makes a valuable contribution to the society.
In 2003, the Itzhaki winegrowing family decided to establish Tulip Winery. They chose the region around Kfar Tikva (near Haifa) to settle down and produce wine. This is also the location of the community where disabled people with special needs can develop their own potential. Tulip became an intrinsic part of a vision by providing suitable jobs for people from this community, thus giving these members the opportunity to become part of the Israeli wine industry. Tulip is probably the only winery in the world where social commitment and the production of top-quality wines meet.
The winery is managed by Mr. Roy Itzhaki, and David Bar-Ilan is responsible for the vinification of the wines. The vineyards are located in the Upper Galilee and the Judean Hills. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc are grown there.
