Somek Haderech Halevana 2016
Description
Blend: 50% Roussane, 40% Chenin Blanc, 10% Viognier
Somek’s vineyards are planted in the footsteps of Zichron – Yaacov (Carmel Mountains) and are continually cultivated in the family since 1882. This wine was made of 50% Roussanne, 40% Chenin blanc and 10%Viognier.
Each wine was fermented separately until combined and entered into the oak barrels for ageing of 1 year and later 6 months in the bottle. The colour is golden with an aroma of grapefruit, apple, hazelnut, vanilla and caramel.
The palate is well balanced, with a velvety smooth mouthful and light acidity. Lingering after taste with pine, roasted sesame seeds and caramel taste. Very elegant long finish.
