Kishor Vineyards

Kishor Vineyards was established in 2007 in Kishorit Village, which is a home for adults with special needs. The winery is a central part of the village and members are involved in all aspects of production and marketing.

In collaboration with the professional team, members play an important part in wine cultivation, bottling and marketing. The members experience great satisfaction and confirmation of achievement when the wines are evaluated by critics, enjoyed and sold on the free market. The wine shop also sells other products made by the members, such as goat cheese, yoghurt, as well as bread, biscuits and cakes from the village bakery.

The vineyards of Kishor lie in the mountains of the Western Galilee. The first vineyards were planted in 2007 with Bordeaux grape varieties. In 2010, grape varieties from the Rhone were additionally planted. The grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre for the reds and Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling for the whites.

The winery cultivates 10 hectares of vines. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level and about 20 km from the Mediterranean Sea. The soil is mainly terra-rosa as well as loam and loess.
